MAC 350cc 1937

Engine, 350 cc OHV, Cast iron barrel and head. High Camshaft with helical cut gears. Bore, 68mm, x 96mm Stroke. Comp. ratio 6.75 to 1. Ignition, magneto, with automatic timing control. Gearbox, 4 speed foot change. Brakes, 6 inch front and rear. Quickly detachable rear wheel. Weight, 285 lbs. Speed, 70 m.p.h.

This bike was purchased by John in 1967 for $50 as a non runner in poor condition; it had a W.Whites (Auck.) winged transfer on the oil tank and on stripping the black paint he first found khaki and then, black enamel. It therefore appears to have been requisitioned for the war effort, painted khaki and repainted after the war. It took 2 years for him to rebuild, and was completed in 1984. Final painting was done at home in baked enamel, except for the tank which was a two pot job.
This bike has been used regularly in rallies and has competed in a number of Pukekohe Red Eye Runs.

OWNERS, JOHN and ANGELA BRYANT.
